South Africa Blames Christianity For Some Of Africa’s Problems - LGR
South African President Jacob Zuma has said something that is not only controversial, but, well, kind of true. Zuma has blamed Christianity for some of Africa’s problems. Zuma is a minister, as he was ordained in 2007 as a priest in the Full gospel Church, and he has angered Christians before by claiming that his party, the African National Congress, would rule in that nation until Jesus Christ returned......
What Zuma did not say is that Christianity, and especially Fundamentalist Catholicism and Evangelicalism have tended to push an ideology that represses sexuality and emphasizes several unhealthy sexual practices. These have made the AIDS epidemic in that continent and nation rather dire.
